Salt Lake Potash Ltd (ASX:SO4) has begun pumping high-grade brine from the Williamson Pit into a commercial-scale Sulphate of Potash (SOP) brine evaporation pond at its Lake Way Project in WA.
This follows completion of construction of the Williamson Ponds with pond dimensions of 2.5 kilometres by 0.5 kilometres.
These ponds have been designed to receive 1.2GL of high-grade SOP brine from the Williamson pit with de-watering underway and scheduled for completion in the September quarter of 2019.

Lake Way Process Plantcommissioning commences

Salt Lake Potash Limited (SO4 or the Company) is pleased to announce the commencement of Process Plant commissioningat its Lake Way Project near Wiluna, Western Australia

First time potassium rich harvest salts, precipitated from lake aquifer brine, have been fed into an SOP Plant in Australia.

•First harvest salts have beensuccessfullyfed into the feed hopper,conveyedto thesurge bin, run through thelump breaker, and theninto the attritioning feed tank at the front-end of the Process Plant.

•Over the coming weeksthe utilities, conversion circuit, flotation circuits, crystallisersand dryerwill all be commissioned ahead of full load commissioning and SOPproduction in the June quarter.

•Consultantsfrom the plant designer,Wood Group, as well as vendors Veolia and Broadbent (amongst others) will be assistingin the commissioning process.

•Front-end plantcommissioning waspowered by 2MW diesel generators. These will continue to be used to progress the commissioning activities over coming weeks.

•Gas supply lines and delivery station for the 10MW power station have beenfullycommissioned, with Power-onscheduled for late Aprilto support final commissioning activitiesand production commencement.

•First production andSOPsales on track for the June quarter.

Environmental Permit Granted Salt Lake Potash Limited (SO4 or the Company) is pleased to announce it has receivedits Part IV Environmental Approval for the Lake Way projectcovering full scale operations of 245ktpa of SOP.

•The Company’s Part IV Environmental submission has been approved by the Government, having been recommended by the EPA with no appeals in January2021.
•The permit enables SO4 to finalise construction of pond trains 4-6 as well as associated trench and bore construction that willsupport full scale operations at Lake Way of 245kt per annum of SOP.
•Construction work on the final components of on-lake infrastructure willcommence this quarter.

Isak Buitendag has been appointed as CEO of the Company,
subject to requotation of the Company’s securities on the ASX.

• Mr Buitendag will be joining from his position as General Manager of Transformation at Kazzinc (69.7%
owned by Glencore).
• Prior to Kazzinc, he was Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Development at Kazchrome,
the largest ferrochrome producer in the world.
• Mr Buitendag has significant experience in Executive roles within the mining industry in Australia,
Kazakhstan and Africa, including at BHP and Fortescue.
• In an Executive capacity he has led teams in project development and minerals processing and has a
track record of delivering business turnarounds.
• The SO4 board believes Mr Buitendag’s skills and reputation as a disciplined operator and manager will
serve shareholders well and look forward to his leadership bringing the Lake Way Project into a
sustainable, profitable operation.
