This high-grade mineralisation could sustain 1,000 tonne per day operation

Condor Gold PLC (LON:CNR) has published a low-capex, high-grade open pit mining scenario based on updated mining dilution studies for the La India Gold Project, located in Nicaragua (Figure 1).

These dilution studies have demonstrated that Condor Gold could use a selective mining approach to focus on mining lower-volumes of high-grade mineralisation, reducing the size of the required plant and as a result reducing the amount of capex required to build the plant. Alternatively, the focus on high-grade mineralisation could support a toll treatment operation with a nearby plant owned by another operator.
Under this new scenario, there would be a series of small open pits on the La India Deposit (Figure 2) and a satellite open pit on both the Mestiza and America Deposits. As a result, Condor would be able to extract around 245,000 oz of gold at a high-grade of 4.65 g/t Au.

This high-grade mineralisation could sustain 1,000 tonne per day operation, which could be either a small plant constructed by Condor or a toll milling operation with a nearby plant.
Under this scenario the initial mine life would be five years producing an average of 49,000oz Au per annum. Importantly, the remaining mineralisation at the end of the initial mine life could be extracted through a larger open pit and or underground operation further extending the operations life.

Dual-listed Condor Gold is considering a high-grade openpit mining option as one of three scenarios for the La India project, in Nicaragua.
The high-grade option is for a smaller plant to minimise capital expenditure and maximise cashflow in the earlier years of production, chairperson and CEO Mark Child has explained.
The scenario delivers diluted tonnage of 1.64-million tonnes at 4.65 g/t gold for 245 000 oz.
“I am delighted with the preliminary results of the mining dilution studies by SRK on the America and Mestiza satellite feeder pits, which demonstrate that with a selective mining approach the feeder pits could contribute a diluted tonnage of 1 249 000 t for a diluted head grade of 4.76 g/t gold, containing 191 000 oz to the mine plan. When these feeder pits are added to the high-grade material within a series of ‘mini pits' containing 387 000 t at 4.29 g/t gold for 53 300 oz gold within the permitted La India openpit, the total diluted mill feed is 1 637 000 t at a 4.65 g/t gold diluted head grade containing 245 000 oz gold.
“This would support a 1 000 t/d production feed to either a small plant constructed by Condor or a toll milling agreement with nearby processing plants for approximately five years, while leaving the bulk of the La India openpit intact, along with the potential for underground production for a long-range development potential,” said Child.
Condor is running a number of scenarios for La India. The principle option is to proceed with the construction and development of the main, permitted La India openpit, with a target of 80 000 oz/y to 100 000 oz/y.
The second option is to add the high-grade feeder pits of Mestiza and America, which are currently being permitted, to the La India openpit, which will increase production to about 12 000 oz/y for seven years.

Condor Gold* (CNR LN: COG TSX) 44p, Mkt cap £40m – Emerging mid-tier gold developerInitiation note - BUY – Valuation 102pSummary:Condor Gold is developing the La India gold mine in Nicaragua within a large, relatively underexplored, licence area with a history of previous gold production dating from the 1930s to the mid-1980s.Initial expectations are for the production of around 100,000oz gold per year from open-pit mining of the main La India vein system and nearby high-grade satellite mineralisation.Production at this level would place Condor Gold among the five largest gold producers on London’s AIM Market. The first phase of open-pit mining is expected to evolve to underground operations later in the mine’s life and significant additional exploration targets offer scope for the discovery of completely intact vertical epithermal mineralised systems on the down-thrown side of faults ling to the south of the current proposed mining area at La India.Valuation:We estimate a value for Condor Gold of 102.5p/share based on the discounted value of potential cash flow from initial open-pit mining at La India and its satellitesOur fair value is currently 40% of the estimated NPV of the initial project in order to reflect the uncertainties of project execution. As progress is achieved, we expect the discount to the full NPV to reduce. In the longer term, we expect further exploration and a longer term transition to underground mining to lead to further value growth as the project develops. Our estimated fair value is supported by peer group comparisons of the market value of both other AIM¬listed gold companies and with other gold mine development projects throughout Latin America. In common with many mining projects, the project’s value is most sensitive to changes in metal prices with a 10% variation in our base case US$1600/oz long term estimate translating to a 19% variation in NPV.Summary & RecommendationWe estimate a value for Condor Gold of US$122m (£97.6m) based on our NPV10% for the cash flows generated by open pit mining at La India over an initial 7 years mine-life. In order to reflect completion and execution risk of the project, our value estimate represents 40% of the project NPV10% and we would anticipate this discount narrowing as project development brings La India closer to production. This NPV based estimate appears consistent with the values currently ascribed by the market to the resource and production base of similar listed AIM gold companies and of other international companies with gold development projects underway in Latin America.

  • Sehr ärgerlich wie ich finde. Eine billige Verwässerung. Fast 20 Prozent
an neuen Aktien + Warrants kommen dazu.
